Gamma24 - The workshop on frontier nuclear studies with gamma-ray spectrometer arrays (ANPhA support)

May 26 - 28, 2024 at Osaka University, Japan

In-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy has been driving the field of nuclear structure studies. Spectroscopic data of level structures help reveal various structural phenomena such as superdeformation, shell evolution or shape coexistence, and further our understanding of interactions or correlations. Presently, several projects of large-scale gamma-ray detectors are in progress in the world. In Japan, a possible collaboration using the Canadian spectrometer at Japanese facilities is being discussed for multifold gamma-ray spectroscopy. A new scintillator array HYPATIA is under development at the RIBF. The gamma-ray tracking detector projects are being driven by the CNS with GRAPE and the RCNP with the GRETINA QUAD and will be joined by the RIBF with the newly launched project GT-5. The workshop aims at widely gathering experimental and theoretical experts to discuss future directions of next-generation gamma-ray spectroscopy and physics opportunities to be created, such as octupole, triaxial and hyper deformation or superheavy element structure.  The workshop is co-hosted by RCNP, RIKEN Nishina Center, CNS University of Tokyo, and JSPS A3F program.

TIDC Autumn School on EIC

August 28 - 30, 2023 at National Taiwan University, Taiwan

Experiments at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) will offer opportunities for a detailed investigation of hadron structure and QCD dynamics. In particular, they will allow for the determination of the transverse momentum distributions of partons, and the examination of the role played by gluons inside nucleons. This school is dedicated to introducing relevant knowledges, in both theoretical and experimental aspects, of EIC physics. The target audience will be advanced postgraduate students, postdocs and researchers in the field.  There is financial support of local accommodation for students traveling aboard.
